An education that builds strong foundations for life

Our Academic Journey

At Oakbridge International School, we believe great education is about more than remembering facts. It is about helping children understand, question, create, communicate and apply what they learn.

From Reception through Year 9, our learners follow a structured academic journey that combines the British curriculum with a nurturing, learner-centred approach.

Reception (KG 2) to Year 9

A continuous journey of learning and growth

Every stage of a child’s education matters. At Oakbridge, we provide a continuous learning journey designed to help children grow in confidence, develop strong academic foundations and become increasingly independent learners.

Our programmes support children as they progress from their early years into primary and lower secondary education, with each stage building naturally on the one before it.

Reception

A confident beginning to formal learning

Our close relationship with Little Learners supports a smooth transition into Reception, helping children settle confidently into formal learning.

Primary School

Building strong foundations for future success

Our Primary programme develops literacy, numeracy and critical thinking while nurturing curiosity, confidence and a love for learning.

Lower Secondary

Preparing students for achievement and leadership

Our Lower Secondary programme develops independent thinking, problem-solving and confidence while preparing students for their next stage.

Our Curriculum

British education. International outlook.

Oakbridge International School follows the British National Curriculum, providing learners with a structured and internationally recognised academic framework.

We are a Pearson Edexcel accredited school, and our approach combines academic rigour with opportunities for creativity, practical learning and personal development.

While our curriculum follows international standards, we recognise the importance of helping children understand the world around them. Learning is therefore connected to the Ghanaian context through relevant examples, experiences and perspectives.

Our aim is simple: to give children a strong academic foundation while helping them develop the skills and mindset to thrive in a changing world.

Learning That Goes Beyond Memorisation

We want children to understand, not simply remember.

At Oakbridge, we encourage learners to move beyond memorising information and repeating facts.

Our classrooms provide opportunities for children to:

  • Ask meaningful questions
  • Explore new ideas
  • Think critically
  • Solve problems
  • Work collaboratively
  • Express their creativity
  • Apply knowledge practically
  • Develop independent ideas

Learning becomes more powerful when children can connect what they learn to real experiences and situations.

How We Learn

The Career Services Toolkit helps faculty, career advisors, and university administrators build coordinated approaches to employability. Adopting the toolkit will help Institutions estalish systems that strengthen career programming, deepen relationships with alumni and industry, and track key outcomes such as graduate placement rates and employer feedback.

Supporting Every Learner

Every child deserves to be known.

Children learn in different ways and at different rates. Our small class sizes allow teachers to understand individual strengths, needs and interests and provide more meaningful support.

Our teaching team is committed to continuous professional development so that learning remains purposeful, engaging and responsive to the needs of our pupils.

We also provide Special Educational Needs (SEN) support for learners who require additional assistance.

Our goal is not for every child to learn in exactly the same way. It is to give every child the opportunity and support to make meaningful progress.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

Because education does not stop when the lesson ends.

From science fairs and art sessions to cultural celebrations, sports, excursions and school events, our learners have opportunities to discover their interests, develop confidence and build relationships.

These experiences complement classroom learning and help children develop the character and practical skills they will carry into the future.

How We Teach

Learning that goes beyond memorising facts

Curiosity

We encourage children to ask questions, explore new ideas and develop a genuine desire to understand the world around them.

Children learn to analyse information, consider different perspectives and make thoughtful, informed decisions.

Creativity

We give children the freedom to imagine, experiment and express their ideas in original and meaningful ways.

Collaboration

Learners work together, listen to different perspectives and develop communication skills to achieve shared goals.

Problem-Solving

We challenge children to approach problems with confidence, explore solutions and learn from the process.

Practical Learning

We help learners develop the confidence to form their own ideas, make responsible choices and take ownership of learning.

Independent Thinking

We encourage children to ask questions, explore new ideas and develop a genuine desire to understand the world.
